PASCHALIS STEIROPOULOS

Paschalis Steiropoulos, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of Pulmonology at the Medical School of Democritus University of Thrace (Alexandroupolis, Greece) and Head of the Department of Respiratory Medicine and Head of the Sleep Disorders Unit of the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis. He is also the Program Director of the MSc in Sleep Medicine of the Medical School of Democritus University of Thrace, Greece.

His research interests focus mainly on sleep disorders, as well as on noninvasive ventilation, COPD and severe asthma. He participates actively in the ESADA (European Sleep Apnea Database) network and he is a member of the Sleep Education Council of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) (Period 2019-2021). Additionally, he is a member of the management committee of the European Burden of Disease network. He has been previously a member of the ERS Guidelines Working Group (Period 2014-2017). He is the author of more than 160 articles published in peer reviewed scientific journals (indexed in Scopus) and has an h-index of 25. He is also the author of 10 book chapters.
